A CHURCH FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO LOVE GOD AND LOVE OTHERS
BECAUSE NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
This is based on Matthew, chapter 22:36-39, where Jesus is asked:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.‘”
The Grove is a group of people who want to follow Jesus in an authentic way. So its no surprise, that we are a church that is faithfully following the teachings of Jesus in an authentic and unpretentious way. We are not a fancy or slick church. We are perfectly imperfect and are seeking others who can accept this about themselves. The only perfect human that walked the Earth was Jesus, so we decided to stop pretending we something we we won’t be until He is finished with us. We are a Christian church in the Sunnyside area that desires to “display His splendor,” based on Isaiah 61:1-3
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
