History

Our story as a church began while Sam and Annette were working at a church in Glendale, Ca. During that time in the greater Los Angeles area, they were impressed with the huge need to be a part of a church that truly mirrored the ethnic and economic composition of the area they lived in. In 2003 they moved to Fresno to participate in a church planting program for awhile. During that time, part of Sam’s training was to do practice runs on the feasibility for a new church. He chose the Sunnyside area of Fresno to practice on because it reminded him of Los Angeles, both in ethnic and economic diversity. Well during the study of the area, both Sam and Annette began to feel the need and call to plant a church right there where they were living.

In the spring of 2005 they were sent to Canada to be assessed as to whether or not they should take the path of church planters. Having been given the green light through the assessment center and through their planting partners, they began to work on March 15, 2005. We, as a church, started going door to door, holding community events, service projects and bible studies. Since then we have grown to a group of over 150 people. We are from several different churches and some of us have not been to church for years, but we are all very excited about what God is going to do through this church in Southeast Fresno.
